In spring of this year, 125 million saplings are slated for planting as part of the “Green Space” initiative

During a video conference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on organizing the spring planting season and enhancing waste management under the "Green Space" project, it was revealed that 125 million saplings would be planted.

Criticism arose during the meeting regarding the lack of determination for planting locations and allocation of funds for irrigation and planting, despite the target of planting 125 million saplings within the "Green Space" project. 

For instance, while progress has been made in allocating land for parks in some regions like Karakalpakstan, Namangan, and Kashkadarya, others like Andijan, Bukhara, Surkhandarya, and parts of Tashkent have yet to decide. 

Particularly in cities like Takhiatosh, Mirzachol, Zafarobod, and others, only 30% of the seedling planting plan has been fulfilled. Moreover, the pace of planting trees and flowers in various locations has been slow.

Concerns were raised about the lack of initiative from construction organizations and various industries to plant trees in response to their environmental impact.

Overall, there's a noted deficiency in efforts to promote and educate the public about tree planting as a national movement.
