March 20, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with representatives from state institutions and the public, participated in a tree-planting event in a newly established park in the Bektemir district of Tashkent. This was reported by the President’s press service.

The park is located in an area that was once neglected, surrounded by the Iykota, Majnuntol, Zilola, Rohat, and Iqbol neighborhoods. Thanks to collective efforts, the space has been transformed into a green area and a recreational park for residents. Spanning three hectares, the park features 3,000 trees and shrubs planted following a forest concept, with designated caretakers assigned for irrigation and maintenance.

President Mirziyoyev engaged in a heartfelt discussion with community leaders, elders, and youth, expressing gratitude for their contributions to this meaningful initiative. He also congratulated everyone on the upcoming Navruz holiday.

“As part of the month-long campaign announced by presidential decree, efforts in agriculture and landscaping are being mobilized across neighborhoods. This spring, 125 million trees are planned to be planted, with a strong focus on selecting suitable planting areas and improving irrigation. The saplings planted here are a continuation of this noble endeavor,” the report states.

Additionally, it was announced that in line with the “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy” state program, 18 specialized forestry enterprises will be established this year. These enterprises will enhance genetic selection work based on the “science-project-practice” approach and expand plantations. The launch of the “Green World” platform will also allow for online purchases of saplings.
