4698School uniforms will not be mandatory in Uzbekistan for the 2024/25 academic year. This was reported by UzA, citing Azamat Kamolov, head of the department of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.
It was noted that standard school uniform samples were approved by the government in 2018. Starting from the 2018/2019 academic year, it was established that students have the right to wear the uniform voluntarily. According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 666 dated August 15, 2018, the standard school uniform will be gradually introduced until 2025.
"Until now, there has been no strict requirement for students to wear the same uniform. Therefore, compulsory uniforms will not be introduced in schools this year either. However, in accordance with the 'Improved Model Code of Conduct for General Secondary Education Institutions,' students are prohibited from coming to school in attire and appearance deemed inappropriate by the institution's charter. This includes boys wearing shorts, t-shirts, and slippers, and girls wearing thin, revealing clothes. It is also forbidden to wear various jewelry on the neck and fingers," said Azamat Kamolov.
We remind you that it was previously reported that admission to the 1st grade in schools outside the micro-region has begun
