The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced a ban on children accompanying pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj season, Gulf News reported, citing official sources.
According to the ministry, the decision aims to protect children from the risks associated with large crowds that gather annually during the pilgrimage.
“This decision was taken to ensure the safety of children and to avoid frustration and traffic jams related to them during the pilgrimage,” the report stated.
Additionally, the ministry emphasized that priority for Hajj participation will be given to those who have not previously performed the pilgrimage.
It is worth noting that earlier, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia lifted the requirement for meningitis vaccination for those undertaking the Umrah pilgrimage.
