The resolution reflects the key proposals made by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during the 78th session of the General Assembly and the 28th UN Climate Conference, which focused on effectively addressing climate change and land degradation.

More than 100 member states, including all Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan, Austria, Belgium, Bahrain, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Indonesia, Qatar, China, Saudi Arabia, Latvia, Mongolia, Morocco, Oman, the UAE, Pakistan, Portugal, Russia, the Republic of Korea, Turkey, France, and other countries representing different regions of the world, co-sponsored the resolution.

It emphasizes their contributions to increasing biodiversity, mitigating the effects of climate change and air pollution, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as their role in poverty alleviation and food security.

A unique feature of the resolution is its alignment with the latest scientific approaches in environmental protection. It includes specific recommendations for UN member countries on tree planting to preserve and enhance biodiversity through environmentally friendly and ecosystem-based methods.
