Train and bus tickets will be free for certain individuals

7216A single free ticket for rail or intercity bus travel is now available annually to individuals living alone who require assistance, as well as to single elderly persons and those with disabilities. This was established in a government decision issued on November 4, titled “Procedure for Issuing Free Tickets for Railway or Intercity Bus Transport to Individuals Living Alone in Need of Care and Listed in the Register of Single Elderly and Disabled Persons.”
According to the new regulations, eligible individuals may use any type of transport (rail or bus) for a free round-trip ticket.
In addition, individuals who live alone and need assistance, as well as those accompanying elderly persons or people with disabilities, are also entitled to receive a free round-trip ticket.
As of August 2024, it was reported that 17,288 individuals requiring care are currently receiving social and household support services.
