Criminal case opened over fire at Aviator shopping center

Earlier, a fire broke out at the Aviator shopping and entertainment center in Tashkent’s Yashnobod district, resulting in the death of a three-year-old girl. A criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident, the Prosecutor General’s Office spokesperson Hayot Shamsutdinov told QALAMPIR.UZ.
According to Shamsutdinov, the criminal case was initiated under Article 192-11 of the Criminal Code (abuse of authority by officials of non-governmental commercial or other non-governmental organizations) and Article 259 (violation of fire safety regulations).
It is worth noting that the fire occurred on January 31. A girl born in 2023 died as a result of the incident. Minister of Emergency Situations Azizbek Ikromov personally visited the scene. The fire was contained at 4:50 p.m. and fully extinguished at 5:17 p.m.
