10866A missive intended for the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, arrived from the esteemed leader of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who serves as the Chairman of thoe People's Council. This communication was confirmed by Sherzod Asadov, the President's press secretary.
The letter conveyed profound appreciation to Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the decision to honor the 300th anniversary of the renowned Turkmen poet and philosopher, Makhtumquli Firogi, in Uzbekistan.
"We firmly believe that the commemoration of Makhtumquli Firogi's 300th anniversary in Uzbekistan will further underscore the unbreakable bond between our nations and states, our intertwined historical fates, our unity, and our commitment to always stand together," Asadov expressed.
Furthermore, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov extended well wishes to the Uzbekistan President for good health, prosperity, continued success in his endeavors, and peace and prosperity for the people of Uzbekistan.
In related news, on February 19, Shavkat Mirziyoyev endorsed a decision to observe the 300th birth anniversary of Makhtumquli Firogi in Uzbekistan. Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov will chair the organizing committee for the jubilee. The commemoration will involve the publication of a compilation of Makhtumquli's selected works, scholarly articles about his life and contributions, collaboration on a feature film between Uzbek and Turkmen filmmakers, and the staging of a play depicting the poet's life and legacy.
Tashkent will host an art exhibition showcasing the friendship and solidarity between the Uzbek and Turkmen peoples. Additionally, an international academic conference titled "The Influence of Makhtumquli's Legacy on Uzbek Literature and Art" is scheduled to take place in Khiva. Furthermore, a special evening dedicated to the memory of Makhtumquli Firogi will be held at the State Academic Grand Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi in October.
