20 kg of marijuana found at elderly man’s home in Andijan

More than 20 kilograms of marijuana were found at the home of a 75-year-old resident in Jalakuduk District of Andijan Region. This was reported by UzA.

According to the report, on January 21 of this year, officers of the оператив-search service of the Andijan Regional Department of Internal Affairs, jointly with staff of the regional department of the State Security Service, conducted an оператив-search operation. During the operation, the residence of a citizen born in 1950 and living in Jalakuduk District was inspected in accordance with established procedures and in the presence of attesting witnesses.

During the inspection, more than 20 kilograms of dried marijuana were discovered in the attic of the house.

In connection with this incident, the investigative group under the Jalakuduk District Department of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under Article 25 in conjunction with Article 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code (illegal preparation, acquisition, storage, and other actions involving narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances with intent to sell, as well as their illegal distribution). Investigative actions are currently underway.

It is worth noting that earlier reports stated that nearly 21 kilograms of narcotic substances were found at a citizen’s home in Chiroqchi District of Kashkadarya Region.
