12183For the first time, American publication "Forbes" has listed Alisher Usmanov as a representative of Uzbekistan in its annual ranking of the world’s richest individuals. The latest edition of the list features Usmanov’s name under Uzbekistan instead of Russia.
The Uzbek-born businessman, founder of USM Holdings, has long been a familiar figure in the Forbes billionaires ranking. This year, his fortune is estimated at $16.7 billion, pushing him from 144th place last year to 125th in the 2024 list—an increase driven by a $3.3 billion growth in his wealth.
According to "Forbes", a total of 24 billionaires who were previously listed under Russia are now registered under other nationalities. In most cases, such adjustments are made at the request of the entrepreneurs themselves. The combined fortune of these individuals is estimated at around $110 billion.
Among the newly reassigned billionaires are Alexey Kuzmichev ($7.5 billion), now listed under France; Petr Aven ($4.7 billion) under Latvia; Elena Baturina ($1.3 billion) under the United Kingdom; Leonid Fedun ($10.4 billion) under Monaco; and Vyacheslav Kantor ($9.5 billion), Arkady Volozh ($1.2 billion), and Alexander Mamut ($1.4 billion) under Israel.
As for the global rankings, 53-year-old entrepreneur Elon Musk remains at the top with a net worth of $342 billion, having gained $147 billion over the past year through his ventures Tesla and SpaceX.
Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Meta, follows in second place with $216 billion, a $39 billion increase from last year. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ranks third with $215 billion, and Oracle founder Larry Ellison holds fourth place with $192 billion.
