Alimony payments set to increase

6243Starting September 1, 2024, alimony payments in Uzbekistan will rise, as announced by Hakimjon Ikramov, senior inspector of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement.
According to the new guidelines, the collection of alimony will be adjusted as follows:
From September 1, 2024, alimony collected from debtors' pensions will be set at 15%.
Starting October 1, 2024, alimony payments based on the salaries of debtor teachers will also increase to 15%.
For those working in the private sector and budget organizations, alimony will rise by 10%.
Additionally, from October 1, the amount paid by unemployed alimony payers will increase by an average of 10%.
It is important to note that if the alimony payer is unemployed or fails to provide documentation of their salary and income, the alimony debt will be calculated based on the average monthly salary in Uzbekistan at the time of recovery.
