Aliqulov extends contract with Rizespor

Turkish club Rizespor has extended the contract of Uzbekistan national team defender Husniddin Aliqulov by one year, the club’s press service said.

The club exercised the +1 year option included in Aliqulov’s existing contract.

"Aliqulov suffered a serious injury during a match against Göztepe and was forced to leave the field. He was diagnosed with an anterior cruciate ligament tear, patellar injury, medial and lateral meniscus tears, bleeding and swelling. The 26-year-old defender was expected to be sidelined for six to nine months and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. Taking into account the player’s performance and loyalty, the club decided to activate the one-year extension option before the end of the season, extending his contract until the end of the 2026–2027 season," the report stated.

Aliqulov has been playing for Rizespor since the summer of 2023.

Earlier, it was reported that Aliqulov underwent surgery in Rome, Italy.
