Uzbek chess prodigy Afruza Hamdamova has secured her second world title at the World Youth Championship in Brazil.

Competing in the under-16 girls' category, Hamdamova clinched the championship with an impressive score of 9.5 out of 10 points, securing 9 wins and 1 draw, and achieving victory with one round remaining.

This win adds to her previous success in November 2023, when she took first place in the under-14 girls' category at the World Youth Championship in Italy. Hamdamova’s consecutive titles make her the first female chess player from Uzbekistan to achieve dual World Youth Championship victories. Her remarkable accomplishment highlights her as a rising star in the global chess community.
