Samarkand to host $50,000 “Women’s Chess Championship 2025”

2339The city of Samarkand is set to host the “Women’s Chess Championship 2025,” an international tournament with a total prize fund of $50,000. This was announced by the press service of the “UzChess” project.
The tournament will take place from March 8 to 19, bringing together female chess masters from around the world. “This year’s ‘Women’s Chess Championship’ will be a significant event not only for chess enthusiasts but also for promoting global sports, knowledge, and equality,” the source stated.
The competition will be conducted under FIDE rules and will be divided into two groups:
- Group A: Chess players with a rating of 1800 points and above.
- Group B: Chess players with a rating below 1800 points.
This championship is expected to contribute to the growth of chess in Uzbekistan and inspire more female participation in the sport.
