11497The pomegranate-flavored carbonated beverage "Golden Life," produced in Afghanistan, has been tested in Kazakhstan, according to a report by "Tengrinews."
The report states that the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan has conducted a sanitary inspection of pomegranate-flavored carbonated beverages.
The committee's statement indicated that the labeling of these carbonated beverages does not comply with the requirements of the Customs Union's "Technical Regulations on Food Product Labeling."
Kazakh experts found that the drink cans lacked a warning label about the presence of the dye (azorubin E 122), which may adversely affect children's activity and attention.
Additionally, the packaging did not indicate the composition and nutritional value of the beverages, the production date, or the expiration date.
"This shows that the manufacturer (importer) has not carried out the conformity assessment procedures required by the technical regulations of the Customs Union," the ministry stated.
The committee has sent the inspection results to the "Atameken" National Chamber of Entrepreneurs. They are expected to warn trade enterprises not to purchase these products without the necessary permits. There is currently no official ban on the sale of "Golden Life" and other beverages. No cases of poisoning have been reported among Kazakh consumers after consuming carbonated beverages.
It should be noted that earlier, the sale of Afghan pomegranate carbonated beverages was banned in Kyrgyzstan. In Uzbekistan, the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control has also announced that additional samples of pomegranate-flavored products are being taken and laboratory tests are being conducted as part of control measures.
