An earthquake occurred in Afghanistan today, February 25, the Republican Center for Seismic Prognostic Monitoring reported.
According to the center, the earthquake struck at 16:12. The epicenter was located 485 kilometers southeast of Tashkent. The magnitude was 5.7, and the depth was 67 kilometers. The epicenter was in Badakhshan, Afghanistan, at coordinates 31.17 degrees north latitude and 71.16 degrees east longitude.
The tremors were felt in the territory of Uzbekistan with an intensity of 2 on the Richter scale in the Surkhandarya region, located 343 kilometers from the epicenter.
