Abdulla Aripov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has been elected as the chairman of the Uzbekistan Chess Federation, as reported by QALAMPIR.UZ.

Alisher Sadullaev, who has held the position since 2022, will now serve as the first deputy chairman of the federation.

Under Sadullaev's leadership, the Uzbekistan national chess team achieved notable success, securing third place in the men's category and twelfth in the women's category at the 45th World Chess Olympiad held in Budapest, Hungary.

Additionally, it was previously announced by Sadullaev that Uzbek chess player Gulruhbegim Tahirjonova, currently active in America, may be considering a return to her home country.
