Abdulla Aripov meets with head of SCO Committee for China

1941Following the conclusion of the second Uzbekistan-China interregional forum held in Samarkand on June 1-2, Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov met today, June 2, with Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairwoman of the Chinese Committee on Good Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation of the SCO. This was reported by the Prime Minister’s press service.
At the start of the meeting, Shen Yueyue asked to convey sincere greetings and good wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. China expressed its full support for Uzbekistan’s policies aimed at safeguarding its independence, territorial integrity, and national interests.
The meeting highlighted that the visa-free regime between the two countries, which came into effect on June 1, will play an important role in strengthening ties within the business communities and further increasing the flow of tourists. It was also noted that the agreements reached at the second interregional forum in Samarkand, along with the signed interregional agreements and trade contracts, will contribute significantly to the development of mutual relations.
Additionally, the parties exchanged views on further expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and economic relations, transport and logistics, industrial collaboration, as well as cultural, humanitarian, and scientific fields.
It is worth recalling that on April 29-30, a delegation from the Uzbek government paid a working visit to Urumqi, China. During this visit, a meeting was held between the delegations led by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Ma Xingzhuy, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
