Ahmadaliev reached an agreement on a defensive fight

In the lightest weight category (-55 kg), the holder of IBF and WBA belts, a boxer from Uzbekistan, Murodjon Ahmadaliev, will hold a defense fight against Marlon Tapales from the Philippines. This was reported by “BoxingScene” publication.

According to the source, both boxers have agreed on the financial aspects of the fight. The date and venue of the fight are currently unknown, but the clash is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2023 or at the end of April.

For information, Ahmadaliev defeated the American Ronnie Rios (33-3) in June 2022 and successfully defended his WBA and IBF belts for the third time, while Tapales had his last fight against Mexico’s Jose Estrella (23-19-1) last May and won ahead of schedule.
