The United States carried out a deportation flight to Uzbekistan on September 7, returning 39 Uzbek citizens who did not have the legal right to remain in the country, the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent reported.
According to the statement, this flight was part of ongoing efforts by the United States to strengthen its borders.
“The United States is firmly committed to ending illegal immigration, protecting its borders, and safeguarding its citizens. Individuals who enter the United States illegally are detained and deported. The United States once again expresses its deep appreciation to the government of Uzbekistan for its close cooperation in implementing US deportation procedures”, the Embassy said in its statement.
It is worth noting that Uzbek citizens who were staying in the United States without legal grounds and had been included in the list of foreigners subject to deportation were also returned to their homeland via a charter flight in April of this year. As part of that operation, a special charter flight was arranged on the New York–Tashkent route. The United States described the operation as historic and expressed its gratitude to Uzbekistan.
