“Please pay your taxes”: Six bloggers earned at least 2.7 billion soums

Six top bloggers in Uzbekistan, each with more than 3 million subscribers, earned a total of 2.7 billion soums in 2025 and paid 110.4 million soums in taxes to the state budget. This was stated at a meeting held by the Tax Committee with bloggers.
According to the report, as part of a review of bloggers’ activities, a list of 110 of the most active representatives of the sector was compiled. The analysis showed that 55 of them were registered as self-employed individuals, 33 as individual entrepreneurs, while the remaining 22 were operating as private individuals.
The activities of six top bloggers with more than 3 million subscribers were also studied separately. It was found that in 2025, they posted 360 Instagram stories, an average of five per month, and 184 advertising posts.
According to official reports submitted through electronic invoices, the bloggers’ total income amounted to 2.7 billion soums, while 110.4 million soums was paid to the state budget in taxes.
During the meeting, representatives of the blogging community were briefed on legal provisions regarding the taxation of income earned from advertising. In particular, it was noted that self-employed status does not give individuals the right to hire employees, while in practice some bloggers involve administrators, assistants and other specialists in their work.
The Tax Committee emphasized the importance of bringing bloggers’ activities into compliance with tax legislation and ensuring transparency of income.
