A young man attempting to traffic a 20-year-old woman to Dubai for prostitution was apprehended in Tashkent, according to the regional DIA.
The suspect, A.R., a 20-year-old resident of Angren, had promised S.T., a woman he knew, that he would arrange her travel to Dubai for prostitution.
A swift operation by authorities stopped the woman at Tashkent International Airport, preventing her from being trafficked. The suspect was arrested at the scene, with incriminating evidence in his possession.
The investigation revealed that the young man had received $2,000 from a woman living in Dubai in exchange for trafficking the victim. A criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 135 (Human Trafficking) of the Criminal Code.
It is worth noting that earlier in Tashkent, a mother was arrested for attempting to sell her 10-year-old daughter.
