Criminal case opened against driver who hit and fled 15-year-old girl (video)

Earlier, it was reported that a Gentra driver hit a young girl and fled the scene in the Samarkand district of the Samarkand region. A criminal case has now been opened against the driver, the Road Traffic Safety Department reported.

It was noted that a special meeting was held by the regional internal affairs department in the Kushchinor neighborhood of the Taylak district, where the driver resides. During the meeting, the driver expressed regret for his actions and stated that he would not repeat such behavior in the future.

A criminal case has been initiated against him under Part 1 of Article 266 (violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation) and Part 1 of Article 117 (leaving a person in danger) of the Criminal Code. The preliminary investigation is currently being carried out by the investigative department of the Samarkand district internal affairs department.

The accident occurred on September 24 of this year at around 19:00 on Panjikent Street, which runs through the Samarkand district. The driver, who was traveling in the opposite lane, struck a 15-year-old pedestrian at high speed and fled the scene. During search operations conducted by the Regional Road Safety Department, the driver and his car were later found in a workshop.

It is worth noting that earlier in the city of Andijan, Andijan region, a Nexia-2 car struck a schoolboy born in 2015. As a result of that traffic accident, the pedestrian sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
