8058Earlier, it was announced that if a driver’s fine points exceed 12, they will be deprived of the right to drive. However, the 12-point system is calculated only based on fines issued by traffic police officers. This was announced today, February 25, during a press conference at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications, with the participation of the leadership of the State Traffic Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As noted at the press conference, only violations recorded by traffic police officers contribute to the 12-point system. Acts recorded by technical means (such as street cameras) are excluded from the calculation.
Additionally, allowing an intoxicated person to drive or entrust a vehicle to a drunk driver is punishable by up to five years of imprisonment, according to Article 261-1 of the Criminal Code.
It should be noted that in Uzbekistan, a person who continues driving despite being deprived of their driving rights will face criminal liability if they commit this violation after receiving an administrative penalty.
