3666From February 1, 2025, ticket prices for local (sleeper) passenger trains will increase, Uzbekistan Railways JSC has announced.
The company attributed the fare adjustment to the need to mitigate financial losses in passenger transportation, cover railway infrastructure costs, and manage expenses for electricity, fuel, and general transport operations. Additionally, funds will be allocated for renewing the passenger car fleet, modernizing railway stations to meet contemporary standards, and enhancing passenger services. The inflation rate in the country was also considered in this decision.
Starting next month, the tariff component of sleeper train ticket prices will rise by 10.5%.
Previously, it was reported that beginning February 1, 2025, ticket prices for VIP and Business classes on the high-speed "Afrosiyob" electric trains will increase by 25%, while economy class fares will rise by 20%. Ticket prices for the high-speed passenger trains "Sharq," "Nasaf," and "Uzbekistan" are also set to increase by 30%.
