Fines in Uzbekistan to increase starting August 1

It was previously reported that, effective August 1, 2025, the minimum monthly wage in Uzbekistan will be set at 1,271,000 soums, and the base calculation amount (BCA) will rise to 412,000 soums. As a result, fines and penalties determined using the BCA will also increase.

For instance, updated fines for common traffic violations will be as follows:

- Not wearing a seat belt: 206,000 soums
- Driving without a technical inspection or a first aid -it: 206,000 soums
- Driving without documents: 412,000 soums
- Driving without insurance: 412,000 soums
- Running a red light: 824,000 soums
- Illegal parking: 824,000 soums
- Driving without a license plate: 2,060,000 soums

Fines for exceeding the speed limit will also rise significantly:

- Exceeding by up to 20 km/h: 412,000 soums
- Exceeding by 20–40 km/h: 2,060,000 soums
- Exceeding by 40–60 km/h: 3,708,000 soums
- Exceeding by more than 60 km/h: 6,180,000 soums

Other violations and corresponding penalties include:

- Driving in the opposite lane: 4,120,000 soums
- Driving while intoxicated: 10,300,000 soums and license suspension for up to 3 years
- Unauthorized vehicle coloring: 10,300,000 soums
- Repeated unauthorized use of tinted windows within one year: 16,480,000 soums

In addition, under the Code of Administrative Responsibility:

- Littering in unauthorized areas will result in fines ranging from 412,000 to 1,236,000 soums
- Smoking in public places is subject to a fine of 137,000 soums

Authorities urge citizens to be aware of the updated fine structure and to comply with traffic and public order regulations.
