Khusanov reveals what he discussed with Ronaldo on the pitch

Uzbekistan national team and Manchester City defender Abdukodir Khusanov revealed details of his conversation with Cristiano Ronaldo during the 2026 World Cup match against Portugal. Sports journalist Davron Fayziyev reported this.

The journalist posted footage from the match in Houston on his Instagram page. It also included information about the exchange between Khusanov and Ronaldo.

“We talked a lot during the game. We mostly exchanged views about situations on the pitch. I cannot remember exactly what we said in that particular video. For example, after our disallowed goal, we had a slight argument. Ronaldo said there had been a foul in that situation, while I explained that Abbos is not a player who plays roughly. But every time, our conversation took place in a friendly spirit,” Khusanov said.

Earlier, it was reported that Portugal defeated Uzbekistan 5-0 in the match held in Houston on June 23 this year.

During the match, Ronaldo and Khusanov spoke several times on the pitch. One of the most memorable moments came in the 60th minute, after Abduvohid Nematov scored an own goal. At that moment, the Portugal captain approached Khusanov, hugged him, patted him on the shoulder and supported him emotionally.
