Khusanov included in Asia’s Team of the Year

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has announced the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Team of the Year for 2025. Uzbekistan national team defender Abdukodir Khusanov has been included in the symbolic lineup.
In addition to Khusanov, the Team of the Year features five players from Japan, three from South Korea, and two from Saudi Arabia.

For reference, Abdukodir Khusanov transferred from France’s Lens to England’s Manchester City at the beginning of 2025, becoming the first Uzbek footballer in history to play in the English Premier League. Over the past year, he also made history with the Uzbekistan national team by securing the country’s first-ever qualification for the FIFA World Cup.
It is worth noting that Khusanov was earlier named Asia’s Best Young Footballer of 2025 by the Goalpost publication.
