A decision is expected from the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding the "Sea Breeze Uzbekistan" international tourism center, which Azerbaijani singer and businessman Emin Agalarov plans to build on the banks of the Charvak reservoir in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region. This was reported by Rasul Kusherbayev, Advisor to the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
According to him, the objections raised by activists have been taken into account, and a number of strict conditions and obligations have been imposed on the company.
“In particular, there were concerns about water leakage from the project into the Charvak reservoir, which supplies Tashkent with drinking water. One of the requirements is that no water must be discharged into the Charvak or Chirchik rivers. The investor is obligated to create a modern system that will recycle and reuse water. All costs for this will be covered by the investor,” Kusherbayev wrote.
The advisor to the minister emphasized that the government resolution clearly states: if the rules are violated and even a single drop of water is discharged into Charvak, the construction of the project will be halted, the investment contract will be terminated, and the land will be confiscated.
“The Prosecutor General’s Office will exercise special control over compliance with all urban planning and environmental regulations in the resort area. The Cabinet of Ministers and the Prosecutor General’s Office will be responsible for ensuring transparency and legality in all processes, from the initial project stages to the commissioning of the facilities,” he added.
For your information, Emin Agalarov expressed his intention to build the Sea Breeze Uzbekistan international tourism center on the banks of the Charvak reservoir last year. On April 14 of this year, he presented the master plan of the tourism center to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
