News spread on social media that the nephew of the governor of Karshi district in Kashkadarya region hit a girl on the side of the road with his car and fled the scene. The Karshi district administration has responded to the situation.
"The messages circulating on social networks are completely untrue," the report states.
The incident reportedly took place on August 15 at approximately 10:50 p.m. A citizen from Mirishkor district, driving a G.I. Gentra car, veered off the "Karshi-Beshkent-Kasbi-Mirishkor" road and struck M.A. and M.O., causing a traffic accident.
As a result, M.A. and M.O. were hospitalized with injuries.
"It has been determined that the video posted by the injured girl's mother was shared in a state of severe mental distress (stress). As a result, completely false information was disseminated. When the deputy governor of the district spoke with the citizen, it was revealed that the assistance provided by the district governor had been misinterpreted, leading to the mistaken claim that the district governor's nephew was involved," the report continued.
It is also worth noting that a driver who killed four pedestrians in the Fergana region was recently sentenced to nine years in prison.
