12668On June 11, a 45-year-old woman from Uzbekistan committed suicide in the bathroom of a private hospital in India. The "Deccan Herald" newspaper reported this incident, citing local police.
The event occurred in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh. Hospital staff stated that the woman, named Zulfiya, had been admitted on May 25 for a liver transplant.
"She had recovered and was scheduled to be discharged within two days," said Dr. Ruchi Ranawat from the hospital.
Zulfiya was accompanied by her husband and son. Her husband made the liver donation.
Indirapuram Assistant Commissioner of Police Swathantra Kumar Singh reported that on the day of the incident, Zulfiya entered the bathroom of her hospital room. Her husband, noticing she had not come out for an extended period, alerted the hospital staff.
Hospital security notified the Kaushambi police station, and officers discovered Zulfiya's body hanging from a towel rack in the bathroom.
"The body has been sent for an autopsy, and a forensic team is investigating the scene," the report added.
It is worth noting that earlier this year, another Uzbek woman was found dead at a resort in Sonipat, Haryana, India.
