Hilola Umarova denies resignation rumors and confirms continued role as minister

15152Reports circulated on social media suggesting that Hilola Umarova, Minister of Preschool and School Education, had resigned from her position to serve as a deputy. However, in response to these rumors, QALAMPIR.UZ contacted the ministry's press service, which confirmed that the claims were false.
Dilfuza Sobirova, the press secretary of the Ministry, clarified that while Minister Umarova was nominated as a candidate from UzLiDeP in the recent elections for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local Councils held on October 27, she has declined the position.
A source from QALAMPIR.UZ indicated that Umarova submitted an application to withdraw her candidacy and intends to continue her role at the Ministry.
Born in 1988 in Weimar, Germany, Umarova graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, specializing in foreign economic activity. She has held notable roles, including as director of the specialized school for information and communication technologies named after Muhammad al-Khorazmi, general manager of INHA University, and head of the agency for the development of creativity and specialized schools. In late 2022, she was appointed Minister of Preschool and School Education by a presidential decree.
