Attention Drivers: An increase in fines comes into effect from today

10333Starting from today, 1st May, the fines for traffic violations have been increased. The reason for this change is the corresponding increase in the base calculation amount. Since fines are determined based on this calculation, the increase in the base amount naturally results in higher fines for traffic violations.
The new fines for traffic violations can be found below:
• Not wearing a seat belt – 165,000 soms (0.5 times the basic calculation amount);
• Technical inspection, medicine box – 165,000 soms (0.5 times the amount of basic calculation);
• Driving without a document – 330,000 soms (1 times the amount of basic calculation);
• Without insurance – 330,000 soms (1 times the amount of basic calculation);
• Driving at a red traffic light – 660,000 soms (2 times the amount of the basic calculation);
• Incorrect parking – 660,000 soms (2 times the amount of basic calculation);
• Talking on the phone – 990,000 soms (3 times the amount of basic calculation);
• Driving without a license plate – 1.65 million soms (5 times the amount of the basic calculation);
• Speed (+20 km/h) – 330,000 soms (1 times the amount of basic calculation);
• Speed (+20-40 km/h) – 1.65 million soms (5 times the amount of basic calculation);
• Speed (+40 km/h) – 2.97 million soms (9 times the amount of basic calculation);
• Opposite driving – 3.3 million soms (10 times the amount of the basic calculation);
• Driving while intoxicated – 8 million 250 thousand soms or disqualification up to 3 years (25 times the amount of the basic calculation).
• Unauthorized toning – up to 8,250,000 soms (25 times the amount of the basic calculation) will be fined.
It should be recalled that according to the new law, if a citizen voluntarily pays 50% of the fine within 15 days, and 70% within 30 days, the remaining part of the fine will be waived.
