21084Uzbek UFC fighter Nursulton Ruziboev has voiced his frustration over the recent trend of Uzbek-speaking users on social media challenging each other to fight in the big leagues. Ruziboev shared his concerns in an interview with QALAMPIR.UZ, calling the situation a disgrace to the sport.
“People on social networks have turned a serious sport into a joke. You can fight in the big leagues without calling each other out and putting on a show. MMA is not a game,” Ruziboev stated firmly.
The athlete emphasized that when he returns to Uzbekistan, he plans to address the issue by confronting those responsible.
“I am not in Uzbekistan right now, and when I return, I will gather all the ‘callers’ together and explain things. It is nothing but a shame that two Uzbeks are calling each other out on the Internet and wanting to fight. Neither of them knows how to throw a straight punch. Such clowns should fight in pop MMA, not in serious tournaments,” he added.
Ruziboev’s frustration comes amid a noticeable rise in social media conflicts, particularly on Instagram, where Uzbek bloggers and self-proclaimed athletes frequently engage in public disputes and challenge one another to fights.
According to Ruziboev, individuals who lack proper training or experience are damaging the reputation of Uzbek MMA globally. He criticized the involvement of netizens who have minimal exposure to professional gyms, stating that their actions are embarrassing the nation’s fighters on the international stage.
