Another Uzbek worker dies at a construction site in Russia

An Uzbek man lost his life after being crushed by an excavator at the construction site of the Krasnoselsky-Kalininsky metro line in St. Petersburg, Russia. The incident was reported by the Fontanka newspaper.  

According to reports, the accident occurred on February 28. Police were informed of the worker’s death by ambulance staff who arrived at the scene. The deceased, a 34-year-old migrant from Uzbekistan, was working in Russia and was officially registered as a migrant worker. During construction work, an excavator fell on him, resulting in fatal injuries.  

The worker’s body has been sent to the morgue, and law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the incident.  

Earlier, another Uzbek migrant died while working on a construction site in the Moscow district of St. Petersburg. That accident was attributed to a violation of safety regulations.
