Javlon Vakhobov appointed Deputy Presidential Advisor on Foreign Policy

Javlon Abdujalolovich Vakhobov has been appointed Deputy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Foreign Policy and Director of the Central Asian International Institute. The appointment was announced by Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.

Vakhobov previously served as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the United States from October 2017 until the spring of 2023. During this period, he was also accredited as Ambassador to Canada and Brazil. Prior to his diplomatic postings, he held the positions of First Deputy and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that Obid Orzikulovich Khakimov was recently appointed Deputy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Economic Policy and Director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms.
