Zelimkhan Haydarov reappointed as head of the Presidential Administration’s Department of Affairs

Zelimkhan Haydarov has been appointed Head of the Department of Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The appointment was announced by Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.
In connection with the new appointment, Haydarov was relieved of his previous post as Head of the Financial and Economic Department of the Presidential Administration.
Background on Zelimkhan Haydarov
Zelimkhan Haydarov was born in 1945 in the Syrdarya region. He is married and has two daughters and one son.
Haydarov worked closely with the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, for many years and was considered one of his most trusted aides. From 1993 to 2018, he served as Head of the Department of Affairs of the Presidential Administration.
On August 27, 2018, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with top officials of the Presidential Administration and signed decrees reorganizing its structure and appointing senior staff. At that time, Zelimkhan Haydarov was relieved of his duties as Head of the Department of Affairs and appointed Head of the Financial and Economic Department of the Presidential Administration.
It is worth noting that earlier this year, Haydarov was also elected Deputy Chairman of the Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan.
