Uzbek circle. Migrants in Korea not forgotten

Local

Uzbekistan has recently celebrated the 34th anniversary of its independence. Although the official holiday has passed, the festive spirit still lingers for many. The Migration Agency and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in South Korea have made a significant contribution to this atmosphere. On September 7 of this year, with the initiative of these two institutions, another series of cultural and sports events was organized for Uzbek migrants in the city of Ulsan, South Korea.

The event began with the national anthem of Uzbekistan. Afterwards, the head of the Migration Agency, Behzod Musaev, delivered a congratulatory message to the participants. In addition, representatives of the Embassy in Seoul and officials from the city of Ulsan extended their greetings to Uzbeks on the occasion of the country’s 34th Independence Day.

Alongside their work abroad, Uzbeks have not forgotten about sports. The competitions began with arm wrestling, a true contest of hands strengthened by hard labor and the daily effort of migrant workers. In the spirited matches, everyone gave their best in pursuit of victory. Once the winners were determined, the tug-of-war commenced. Divided into four teams, the participants demonstrated not only their strength but also their unity.

The relay race was no less intense. Participants split into teams, running with the baton and passing it on to their teammates. In the end, the fastest group was identified.

The final sports event was the most beloved game of all, football. Despite living and working in Korea, Uzbeks used the tournament to once again feel that they are always one team.

At the end of the competitions, the winners were awarded valuable gifts prepared by the Migration Agency and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul, along with gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as a special ’’34th Anniversary of Independence’’ cup.

After that, the cultural program of the event, held under the slogan ’’For the Homeland, for the Nation, for the People,’’ began. Guests enjoyed performances by well-known artists, while Uzbek songs and humor created a cheerful atmosphere. Families, loved ones, and friends who came to the celebration felt a touch of the joy of being in Uzbekistan itself, celebrating together, thanks to the event organized by the Migration Agency and the Embassy.
