Uzbek Ambassador presents credentials to Erdogan

Ilhom Haydarov, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Turkey, has officially presented his credentials to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The news was reported by the Dunyo news agency.

Following the formal ceremony, the two sides held discussions on the current state of the deepening comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkey, as well as prospects for its further development.

It was noted that sincere and friendly relations have been established between the leaders of both nations, and attention was given to upcoming high-level events planned before the end of the year.

The two parties highlighted the significant potential for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation. In particular, they emphasized the importance of increasing mutual trade turnover to 5 billion US dollars in the coming years through active economic diplomacy.

President Erdogan wished Ambassador Haydarov success in his diplomatic mission and assured that all Turkish government institutions would provide full support to help him carry out his duties effectively.

For reference, Ilhom Haydarov replaced Alisher Azamkhodjaev, who was elected Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism.

It is also worth noting that earlier, Oybek Shahavdinov, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary with residence in Budapest, presented copies of his credentials to Branko Radovanovic, Head of Diplomatic Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia.
