Uzbekistan will launch the Air Monitoring Uzbekistan platform, according to the presidential decree “On Urgent Measures to Improve the Environmental Situation in Tashkent City,” signed yesterday, 24 November.

The decree stipulates that by the end of 2025, 347 automated stations will be purchased under direct contracts for background monitoring of air pollution.

The Air Monitoring Tashkent platform and 10 automated monitoring stations belonging to the Tashkent city administration will be transferred to the management of the Ecology Committee. Based on this platform, the committee will launch the Air Monitoring Uzbekistan platform.

The new platform will integrate the 347 newly purchased stations as well as all observation stations within the Hydrometeorology Service system, including 23 automated stations installed with the support of the Zamin Fund.

It is worth noting that a special commission was previously established to implement urgent measures aimed at improving the environmental situation.
