Uzbekistan to celebrate Eid al-Adha on June 6

Eid al-Adha will be celebrated across Uzbekistan on Thursday, June 6. In Tashkent, Eid prayers will begin at 5:10 AM. The announcement was made on May 30 by the imam of the “Munavvar Qori” mosque in the capital’s Almazar district during his address before Friday prayers.
The Fatwa Center under the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan confirmed that the first day of the Islamic month of Zulhijjah in the country was observed on May 28. According to the Hijri lunar calendar, the 10th day of Zulhijjah marks the beginning of Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice.
It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia also announced June 6 as the date for Eid al-Adha celebrations and declared a week-long holiday for both public and private sector employees.
