Uzbekistan has imported $49 million worth of flour in the last five months

Uzbekistan imported 158,4 thousand tons of flour worth $49 million between January-May 2022. This is reported by the State Statistics Committee.
It was noted that the volume of wheat flour imports increased by 19.8 thousand tons compared to the same period last year.
Between January-May 2022, Uzbekistan was the largest importer of wheat flour from:
• Kazakhstan - 153.4 thousand tons
• Russia - 4.9 thousand tons
• the USA - 50 tons
• Italy - 27 tons
• India - 2 tons
• France - 1.8 tons
It should be recalled that from 1 June of the current year, Uzbekistan started the sale of wheat in the stock. As a result, the price of a loaf, which is considered affordable for a wide segment of the population, has almost doubled from 1,600 to 2,800 soms.
