Following the instructions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, another shipment of humanitarian aid, comprising 183 tons of food products, has been delivered to Afghanistan on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. The aid, symbolizing the Uzbek people’s solidarity and goodwill, was sent to the Balkh region, according to the Surkhandarya regional administration.
The humanitarian assistance was handed over at the premises of the Astras company in the city of Hairaton. The handover ceremony was attended by Ismatilla Irgashev, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan; Ulugbek Kasimov, Governor of Surkhandarya region; and Nurulhodi Abuidris, Deputy Governor of Balkh region, along with other officials from both sides.
The shipment includes essential food items such as flour, rice, sugar, pasta, confectionery, vegetable oil, instant food, red beans, and mung beans. Afghan officials expressed their deep appreciation to the President and people of Uzbekistan for the timely humanitarian support and extended warm congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
It is worth noting that earlier this year, in March, Uzbekistan also sent around 200 tons of food products to Afghanistan in celebration of the Navruz holiday and Ramadan, following President Mirziyoyev's directive.
