2 Turkmen citizens detained in Turkey after Uzbeks poisoned by counterfeit vodka

Two Turkmen citizens have been detained in Istanbul, Turkey, for allegedly preparing and distributing counterfeit alcoholic beverages. This was confirmed by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.

According to reports, 38 people in Istanbul have been poisoned over the past 24 hours due to consuming counterfeit alcohol. Tragically, 11 of those hospitalized have died.

The Turkish police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Among those hospitalized, 26 are foreign nationals.

In connection with the incident, two Turkmen citizens have been detained, and a criminal case has been initiated against them.

As of now, the death toll among Uzbek citizens from counterfeit alcohol in Istanbul has risen to six, including five men and one woman.

Earlier reports indicated that five Uzbek citizens had died in one day in Istanbul after consuming counterfeit alcohol.
