In the Turkish city of Umraniye, a 35-year-old Uzbek citizen, N.S., was stabbed to death by her husband on the street in an apparent act of jealousy, Turkish media outlet "Son Dakika" reported.

The incident took place on August 17 at around 9:00 p.m. on Aytaşı Street in the Ihlamurkuyu neighborhood. According to reports, the man argued with his wife out of jealousy and then slit her throat with a knife. The woman died at the scene from her injuries.

After committing the crime, the suspect fled but was detained by Istanbul police during a search operation on the morning of August 18.

During interrogation, he confessed, stating that he had repeatedly argued with his wife over jealousy.

“When I realized what I was doing, I had already fled from there,” the suspect told investigators.

The incident was also captured on nearby surveillance cameras. Following the murder, the man contacted an acquaintance for help. That person was also detained on suspicion of being aware of the incident and giving him advice.

After questioning, both suspects were referred to court. The investigation is ongoing.

It is worth noting that earlier, on July 5, another 35-year-old Uzbek citizen working as a waiter in Turkey’s Aydin province died from a gunshot wound during a separate incident.
