A video showing a citizen resisting police officers in Tashkent has gone viral on social media, prompting widespread discussion. The Main Department of Internal Affairs of the capital has issued a response to the incident.

According to reports, on August 5 at approximately 9:30 p.m., two intoxicated individuals disrupted public order and disturbed residents on Chinabad Street in the Yunusabad district. Special services were alerted to the situation, and a preventive inspector along with a PPH officer on duty in the area promptly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, the officers attempted to stop the individuals, but the citizens refused to comply with their lawful orders, resisted the officers, and tried to flee. As a result of swift action, both individuals were detained by the inspector and PPH officer and taken to the district police department.

Documents were filed against them under Article 183 (petty hooliganism), Article 194 (failure to comply with the lawful requirements of an internal affairs officer), and Article 195 (obstruction of internal affairs officers in the performance of their official duties) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. The case has been forwarded to the Yunusabad District Criminal Court for further legal action.

It is worth noting that a similar incident occurred earlier in Tashkent, where a citizen attacked an internal affairs officer with a knife. A criminal case was initiated under Article 105, Part 2, Clause “m” of the Criminal Code (intentional infliction of moderately grievous bodily harm).
