Citizen attacks police inspector with a knife in Tashkent

A citizen in Tashkent attacked an internal affairs officer with a knife. The incident was reported by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the capital.

According to the report, on June 21 at approximately 14:30, two individuals got into an altercation in the 31st district of the Uchtepa district. During the quarrel, citizen U.M. inflicted bodily injuries on citizen N.T. using a sharp object, then fled the scene. The victim was hospitalized with a diagnosis of a stab wound to the left side of the chest.

A territorial preventive inspector who arrived at the scene identified the suspect and attempted to detain him. At that moment, U.M. also attacked the inspector with a knife and actively resisted arrest. Nevertheless, the suspect was apprehended by the inspector and officers from the Patrol-Post Service (PPX), along with the knife used in the assault.

No injuries were sustained by the officers of the Internal Affairs Directorate.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2, Article 105 (intentional infliction of moderately severe bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and an investigation is currently underway. A legal decision will be made upon completion of the proceedings.

It is worth recalling that earlier, an internal affairs officer was fatally stabbed in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent. The suspect in that case was quickly detained.
