In Tashkent, individuals who disposed of waste in unauthorized locations and violated sanitation regulations have been fined over 2 billion Uzbek soms, the city administration reported.
According to the administration, 62,863 citizen complaints related to environmental issues were submitted through the “People’s Control” platform, of which 60,906 have been resolved.
Within this framework, 3,696 cases of waste-related violations were identified, resulting in a total of 2 billion soms in administrative fines.
Additionally, 812 pieces of specialized equipment were used to remove 14,000 tons of household and solid waste from 585 mahalla districts, which were then transported to designated landfills. Sanitation work was carried out in 8,573 multi-story residential areas, while 2,890 trees were pruned and given decorative shapes.
During citywide sanitation inspections, 594 facilities were checked, revealing violations in 365 cases, all of which were addressed.
The administration emphasized that city neighborhoods, residential complexes, and water bodies are being regularly cleaned, and strict measures are being taken against illegal dumping and environmental pollution.
Fines and preventive measures are being applied to individuals and organizations that violate established rules. Previously, 42 household waste landfills across Uzbekistan were closed, and the land was returned to nature.
