A self-proclaimed ’’mullah’’ who committed acts of sexual harassment against a woman and her niece in Tashkent’s Yangi Hayot district has been sentenced to five days of administrative detention. QALAMPIR.UZ reviewed the court documents related to the case.
According to the document, on October 14 of this year, a resident of the ’’Yangi Turmush’’ neighborhood, identified as Z.F., invited M.A. to her home through an acquaintance to perform a prayer ritual after she had a bad dream. The acquaintance told Z.F. that she should pay M.A. 3.6 million soums for his services. When M.A. arrived to perform the ritual, he first made inappropriate sexual advances toward Z.F.’s niece, A.O., and then attempted to kiss Z.F. herself. Shocked and frightened, the woman immediately reported the incident to the local police.
On October 21, the Yangi Hayot district criminal court heard the case. During the hearing, M.A. pleaded guilty and expressed remorse for his actions. The court found him guilty under Article 41-1 of the Administrative Code (’’Sexual harassment’’) and sentenced him to five days of administrative arrest.
It is worth noting that earlier, a man who had exposed himself to two underage girls in Tashkent was charged with a criminal offense.
