Svetlana Osipova secures a silver medal at the Olympics

The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics are rapidly approaching. Svetlana Osipova, competing in the +67 kg weight category for Uzbekistan, faced Althea Loren from France in the taekwondo competition held in Paris. Despite her best efforts, she was unable to overcome her opponent, resulting in Osipova securing the silver medal at the Paris Olympics.
In doing so, Osipova made history as the first female athlete from Uzbekistan to win an Olympic medal in taekwondo.
Following Osipova's final match, the total medal count for the Uzbek delegation in the tournament reached 12, comprising 7 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
Additionally, Ulugbek Rashidov of Uzbekistan competed against Zayid Karim from Jordan in the finals of the -68 kg weight category in taekwondo and emerged victorious. With this win, Rashidov became a two-time consecutive Olympic champion.
